Short description
Declared Missing is an asymmetric stealth-horror game in which ordinary people wake inside an abandoned prison staged by a Satanic figure known only as The Host — and must find a way out while Hunters stalk the halls. The prison expands with the number of players.
Description
Declared Missing is an online asymmetric stealth-horror game from 8-Bit Cache Studios, built in Unreal Engine. A match — called a Broadcast — is staged by The Host, an unseen presence who speaks through the facility’s radios, intercoms and monitors, whose purpose remains a mystery.
The Survivors are ordinary people with real professions and unexplained pasts. They search the prison for what they need, talk over proximity voice and walkie-talkies, hide, pick locks, hack terminals, fight back when they must, and rescue detained teammates. Hunters are chosen servants of The Host, each recruited with a promise: authority, knowledge, territory. They are faster in the dark and recover their wounds in shadow.
Multiple escape opportunities invite exploration. Randomized route configurations remain in development. The planned prison scales are: 1v3 opens one three-level cell block, main Floor 1 and basement; 2v4 opens two three-level cell blocks, main Floors 1–2 and basement; 3v5 opens main Floors 1–3 with either the basement or rooftop escape, never both. The prison is the first map; more facilities are planned.
Key features
- The game expands with the players. 1v3, 2v4 and 3v5 each reshape the playable prison.
- Earned information. Discover possible escape routes and investigate what they need. Randomized route availability is part of the design still being integrated.
- Light is territory. Survivors restore power to deny Hunters their shadow speed and recovery.
- Capture is another chance. Captured Survivors are detained in the cells — and can be rescued.
- Time runs out. The current development build ends at 18 minutes when the Fog engulfs the prison.
- Simple, fair progression. Three upgrade tiers per character, sidegrades only. Never pay-to-win.
